JAY'S DREAMWORLD

An ancient story:

Long before the boys of summer, centuries before man skated across ice, carried a ball over a yard line, or went airborne with hoop dreams, the Native Americans had a game of their own. A game filled with courage and strength. Much more than a sport, it was sacred, a gift from the Great Spirit. Played to settle land disputes, bring good fortune, and most importantly, to heal, the game was their connection to the universe.

We named it lacrosse. They referred to it as it was, Little Brother of War.

Even at eight years of age, Jay understood the ancient stories his father shared with him. He believed in their magic and occurrence in everyday life. What he didn’t understand was where to find his parents when told they had died. Jay’s fearful uncertainty leads him to find refuge in a Native story of the past, whereupon he begins to transcend time and space and live within two different worlds, his imagination and reality.

Within Jay’s imagination, an epic lacrosse story unfolds involving a Native warrior who saves the life of a French soldier. As Jay continues his search for his parents, this ancient story follows a parallel course, allowing fantasy and reality to clash in a triumphant ending.
